The Charlotte Chorale is a secret gem of the Charlotte arts community. The Chorale is comprised of auditioned singers that enjoy singing a variety of styles of music and giving back to the community.
Each concert has a creative musical theme so audience members are entertained with a variety of styles of music all in one show.
The Charlotte Chorale, under the direction of Mitchell Lewis, will be bringing the messages of Christmas to life through song as they present “Christmas Tidings” on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the New Theater located in the Parr Building at CPCC in Charlotte.
The evening begins with the message that on this night Jesus will bring us joy as you’ll hear during the moving “Christmas Canon”. “Mary Did You Know?” tells the story that Mary will give birth to a son and name him Jesus because he will save his people from their sins. The Chorale will spread the good news that we should rejoice because a Savior will be born with “Veni, Veni Emmanuel” and other selections.
After a brief intermission the Charlotte Chorale will head to the North Pole and be enveloped by the “Spirit of the Season” filling our hearts with loving care and encouraging everyone to share it. While reading letters to Santa, it shows that not everyone believes, so “Yes Virginia” answers the questions that there is a Santa Claus and we should let his season live in us. At the North Pole, we’ll stroll down “Candy Cane Lane” showing that even just a hint of peppermint makes everything feel like Christmas. We’ll also learn through “Sparklejollytwinklejingley” that we should to thine own elf be true. So tinsel up every corner and give the world a holiday that is bright as can be. And one simple phrase for kids from 1 to 92 is “Merry Christmas to you” as told with “The Christmas Song”.
It is an evening of music and fun. Audience members can take a family photo in the lobby at our Christmas photo display, write a letter to Santa and listen to what the elves are up to at the North Pole with our Holly Jolly Hotline.
The concert is 75 minutes long which includes a 15 minute intermission and the choir will be accompanied by a musical combo.
