The Charlotte Chorale is a secret gem of the Charlotte arts community. The Chorale is comprised of auditioned singers that enjoy singing a variety of styles of music and giving back to the community.
Each concert has a creative musical theme so audience members are entertained with a variety of styles of music all in one show.
The Charlotte Chorale Inc., under the direction of Mitchell Lewis, will present “Music Is The Food of Life” on Saturday, June 10th at 7:00 PM. The concert will take place at Broach Hall at St. John’s Baptist Church located at 300 Hawthorne Lane in Charlotte.
This evening of musical indulgence pairs songs with scrumptious snacks. Throughout the concert, the audience will be served a variety of tasty bites which shows that “We Go Together” isn’t just a hit song from Grease that we will sing, but also shows how food and music make a great duet.
Willy Wonka sang of pure imagination while offering up chocolate treats and so will we. Come hear ”Pure Imagination” while tasting delicious chocolate. If you love coffee, come sip a cup of hot coffee from the coffee bar, or enjoy the beautiful music while having a mocha flavored cold coffee as we sing “Jave Jive” and “Java Jazz”.
The Chorale will perform different styles of music and the food reflects the variety. It’s not just about the sweet, but also about the savory. Chicken taquitos bites will be served as we sing the Spanish folk song “El Vito”. You will be tapping your toes at your next picnic after hearing our jazzy version of “Solid Potato Salad”.
As the castle staff of enchanted objects in Beauty and The Beast sang, “Be Our Guest” for an evening of fun, beautiful choral music and bite sized treats.
Don’t miss out!
